What is bhakti? Janaka Maharaja has given the definition to Bharata. He told him that nothing can control prema—it has its own law. One who has prema will always be considering the desires of his object of prema. He has no personal interest. He will always be thinking, “How will my beloved be pleased?” Our real purpose is to please our istadeva; not to please ourselves.”
