Svamiji has Brought Me Here

[Excerpt from Srila Gurudeva: Around the World, Holland 1996, the first book in a series of volumes on Srila Gurudeva's world preaching tours.]
I have told you before that Svamiji Maharaja has brought me here. He cut the jungle and made a very beautiful platform and sent me. When I came first to Holland one month before, I had not dreamt so much further that so many good devotees will meet me and that we will dance and engage ourselves in kirtana like how we do so here. I did not think that such deep preaching will be done here. But magically, everything was done. All the senior devotees who have been with me since two weeks have also remarked that the preaching here was so good. I was overjoyed to see all this. I had never dreamt that I will come to Western countries and preach like this. When I was going to England, I felt so much separation for all of you here. On the way, all of you were coming in my mind.
I thought, “How they danced in kirtana! How they sang in kirtana! And how patiently they heard me! I think A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami has come again and caused this enthusiasm among devotees.”
In the same way, when I was going to England I thought about how I didn’t know anyone. I thought, “What will be there?” But I saw that a gathering of a hundred devotees awaited me at the airport. They were dancing and waiting with so many garlands and everything. And they were shouting, “Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Jaya Gurudeva! Jaya Prabhupada!”
