If you are abusing anyone, criticizing anyone, quarreling with anyone, the sound will go through the air and it will go through the whole universe. If you are speaking anything, nonsense or anything, it will go through the whole world by air. Just like a stone that is thrown in the pond, the waves will touch all ends of the pond. Thus, the universe is like a pond. Air is everywhere.
So, when one chants:
Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare
Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare
this will create so many waves of air and this will touch to the ends of the world and purify all the universe. If, knowingly or unknowingly, you touch fire, it will burn you. Similarly, this name is so powerful, it will inject all, and it will purify all—whether they know or not.
Even Muslims, they don’t speak Hare Kṛṣṇa Rāma, but the sound will go to Iran or anywhere. The sound will go and touch them. It will engage all of your senses. You will forget where you are and what you are doing. If you chant loudly, all of your senses will be controlled. Nothing to criticize and nothing to remember—your bad activities or anything.
