Srila Gurudeva: Akrta-droha means if anyone is being inimical towards a Vaisnava, he never takes offense. Like Duryodhana was all the time doing so much inimical behavior to Maharaja Yudhisthira but Yudhistira Maharaja used to take it only in a friendly way. Yudhisthira Maharaja was akrta-droha. A Vaisnava should be like this. However if there is no bhakti and only he is akrta-droha, then this qualification is like zero. In the twenty six kinds of qualities, krsnaika-sarana, taking shelter of Krsna, is the only one that is bhakti. All the other qualities are not bhakti. If they are associated with bhakti then it is called sanga-siddha-bhakti, otherwise not.
There was a fire sacrifice, a yajna. They brought some leaves and decorated the altar. They brought some ghee and a spoon. They brought some bricks to make an altar. They brought sand and so many other things. These things are not the fire sacrifice. What is? “Om Krsnaya svaha! I am dedicating myself to the lotus feet of Krsna. The fruit should go in the hands of Krsna. Svaha!” This is the sacrifice. All the other things which were collected, the leaves, bricks, ghee and all the other things are not the fire sacrifice but yet they are for that. It will be used for that, so they are also called the fire sacrifice.
Therefore, all the virtues, anything that is helpful for pure bhakti but in itself is not pure bhakti, then they are called sanga-siddha. Understand? Svarupa-siddha-bhakti is always sravanam, kirtanam, visnu-smaranam. Only for the pleasure of Krsna and only to Krsna, this is pure svarupa-siddha-bhakti. When we are doing all these things, sravanam, kirtanam, visnu-smaranam, but having some anyabhilasita, then what will it be? It will be karma-misra or jnana-misra-bhakti. We should try to become a pure devotee. Always doing svarupa-siddha-bhakti.
