If you are beginning this bhakti process, the symptoms will be kleśaghnī (destruction of all miseries) and śubhadā, (the manifestation of all good qualities), and worldly desires will go. You can judge for yourself, keeping your hand on your heart, and check your own pulse to see whether or not, after repeated hearing, your material desires have lessened or gone. If this is not taking place, it means that there are some loopholes in your practice. You will have to discover what they are and gradually give them all up.
