Why does Kṛṣṇa do rāsa? He does so because it is the desire of Śrīmatī Rādhikā. Śrīmatī Rādhikā desired, “I want to dance with My sakhīs and You.” To fulfill Her desire, Kṛṣṇa did rāsa. Kṛṣṇa is fully submissive to Śrīmatī Rādhikā. He does what She wants Him to do. And what does Rādhājī do? She can do everything for the happiness of Kṛṣṇa which no one else can do. So, by the desire of Rādhājī, Kṛṣṇa did rāsa. Rādhikājī is the most exalted of all gopīs. The rāsa-līlā occurred only to manifest the glories of Śrīmatī Rādhikā. The love Rādhājī has for Kṛṣṇa is unequalled. The aim and object of life is to serve Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa yugala under the guidance of Śrīmatī Rādhikā’s maidservants, like Rūpa Mañjarī.
